Nation Anthem

My Bengal of gold,I Love you
Forever your skies, your air set my heart in tune
as of it were a flute.
In spring, Oh mother mine, the fragrance from
Your mango-graves makes me wild with joy.
Ah, what a thrill
In Autumn, Oh mother mine,
In the full- blossomed paddy fields,
I have seen spread all over-sweet smiles,
Ah, what a beauty, what shades, what an affection
and what a tenderness,
What a quilt have you spread at the feet of
Banyan trees and along the bangs of rivers,
Oh mother mine, words from your lips are like
Nectar to my ears,
Ah, what a thrill
If sadness, Oh mother mine, casts a gloom on your face,
My eyes are filled with tears.

BANGLADESI PAINTER ZAINUL ABEDIN

Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin was born on 29th December,1914 in Kishoreganj. He studied at Government Art school in Kolkata from 1900 to 1938 and in 1939 joined the faculty of Kolkata art school. In 1943 he drew a series of sketches on the famine that had devastated Bengal that year. The haunting images of cruelty and depravity that he drew in the famine sketches brought Zainul widespread fame. After the partition of India in1947,Zainul came to Dhaka and played a pioneering role in the modern art movement of Bangladesh .He was also a key figure in establishing the Institute of Fine Arts in Dhaka as well as the Folk Art and Crafts Foundationin in Sonargaon. In a land that lacked a long-standing tradition of institutional art, the Shilpacharya emerged as a shaping force both for his creative genius as well as his leadership and organizational abilities. He died on 28 May, 1976.

A DAY IN COX;S BAZAR

Bangladesh has many beautiful places. these places are full of natural beauties. Cox's bazar is the best of these places. It is blessed with most enchanting natural beauty. Cox's bazar is about 160 km from chittagong. It has the world's largest natural sand beach sloping smoothly down to the bay of bengal. The wide beach stretching up to 1,000 feet i.e, 330 metres at low tide, is the pleasure seeker's paradise. During last summer holidaysI had a chance to visit Cox's bazar only for a day on my way to Teknaff for official duty. I halted at Cox;s bazar for the day and gazed at all those natural objects and beauties, I long with my friend,Kazal, went to the wide beach at about 3 p.m I saw some couples of youngs stars bathing and swimming in the waters and tanning on the sand. On en enquiry I came to learn that it was possible because the waters are safe from the sharks and the sun is just pleasant and invigorating. I also gazed at a range of green hills running along the beach for about 96 km.The silvery beach with an evergreen picture background on the oneside and the blue waters with white waves foaming along the otherside is the tourists dreamland and this is our Cox's bazar.
